What Is 2D Animation?

                   What Is 2D Animation?

2D Animation creates movement in a two-dimensional artistic space. Working in the field of 2D Animation requires creativity, technological skills and teamwork.
2D Animation focuses on creating characters, storyboards and backgrounds in two-dimensional environments. 2D Animators help create characters for websites, films, television, video games and advertisements.

The process of creating 3D animation can be sequentially divided into three phases: modeling - which describes the process of creating the 3D objects within a scene, layout and animation - which describes how objects are positioned and animated within a scene, and rendering - which describes the final output of the completed computer graphics. Through the combination of the above phases and a few other sub-phases, this completes the process of a 3D animation production.

The State Government will soon announce a dedicated framework for the gaming and animation segment of the IT industry, said Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda on Tuesday. Addressing the inaugural session of the 14th edition of the ICT event, Bangalore, IT.biz, Mr. Sadananda Gowda said that the gaming and animation sector has the potential to generate revenues of Rs. 10,000 crore by 2012.
Mr. Sadananda Gowda said that the Government is “seriously considering” the suggestion made by Indian entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley that the State establish a “liaison office” in Santa Clara.
Bangalore, he pointed out, is home to eight lakh software professionals out of about 25 lakh in the country. There are more than 2,200 ICT companies in Bangalore, he said. Karnataka, he added, contributes about one-third of software exports from India. “IT exports from the State amounted to Rs. 90,000 crore in 2010-11,” he said.
The former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam urged entrepreneurs, academics, students and policy-makers to face the “challenge posed by the convergence of multiple technologies.” “It does not matter how many IT parks we establish, but how many system integrators and managers we create,” Dr. Kalam observed.
New and innovative technologies developed in several disciplines are heading towards a convergence, which will result in “the bringing down of iron curtains around individual disciplines,” he remarked. “The IT industry has to transform itself from a software powerhouse to a knowledge system powerhouse,” he remarked.
R. Chandrashekhar, Secretary, Department of IT, said that both the telecom and IT industries faced serious challenges in the future. While teledensity is likely to reach the “saturation point” soon, the IT industry services industry is likely to face problems caused by its excessive dependence on exports.
Mr. Chandrashekhar pointed out that the average revenue per user (ARPU) of the mobile phone companies is less than $2 (Rs. 90) per month. The global economic slowdown and the resulting “backlash against outsourcing,” the fall in the number of registrations in the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) parks, the end of the tax breaks from April 2012 and “the fading of the euphoria” about the potential for e-governance are indicators that “we are at the end of the honeymoon period of the IT industry,” Mr. Chandrashekhar said.
Mr. Chandrashekhar also pointed out that domestic electronics hardware industry is virtually absent.
He urged the IT industry to design solutions by leveraging its strength in IT and telecom.
S. Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, Vision Group on IT, said Bangalore, which has the second largest concentration of IT professionals in the world, should play host to a research centre for developing innovative multidisciplinary solutions to problems faced by people in developing countries.
The three-day event features a number of parallel sessions devoted to various aspects of the IT industry.
